For all you crazy Web Monkeys, I found some cool services on the web today.
First is that snugtech.com has made available a Safari Test page, which will make a screenshot of a website in Safari, and then post it for you to see. Look back in the future for a VNC enabled browsing experience for site testing, which will be for paying subscribers.
Being a Mac user, I have little need to get screenshots in Safari, however, Browsershots.org takes a little longer but creates screenshots for a multitude of platforms. I think I will use it more because I can get a MS IE 6.0 screenshot, which makes me happy. Someone else can run the system, and I can still see how my site works there. You also get several varieties of Linux browsers, but when I went through the majority of those were backed up with queues, so my site didn’t run. No problem for me as I want the MS experience. I have Mac and Linux boxes at home so that work can be done by myself. My Windows box only gets used for a select number of applications, and web browsing is not included, which I will rant on more later.
One of the cool things about the Browsershots.org/recent/ site is that if you go to the recent page, it will refresh every minute, and will show you the latest screenshots. Hmm, sounds like an easy way to view designs, and to get ideas.
